Junior Firefighters first fire
Junior Firefighters work under direct supervision of Fire Officers and Fire personnel.
About the Junior Firefighter program
To join the Junior Firefighter Program, you must be between 16 and 18 years old. Junior firefighters are trained to the level of Exterior Firefighting. Once the age of 17, with parental consent, a junior firefighter can go get certified to be an Interior Firefighter. Once you are 18, you can begin fighting fires inside.
Starting as a junior firefighter gives you the chance to learn a lot before becoming an interior firefighter.
Junior firefighters learn how to operate tools and equipment. They can train on using a SCBA and get comfortable being on air.
The future of the PHVFD 225 will rely on the young people of the community today.
